X Profile About API
Returns an X (Twitter) profile plus X's "About this account": the region the account is based in, how it signed up, its username changes and the breakdown behind the blue check.
GET /v1/twitter/profile/aboutLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the X Profile About API
Use it to check where an account is based and whether its handle history or verification makes it trustworthy. Costs 2 credits; /v1/twitter/profile is the 1-credit profile.
From the API reference
Returns the same profile as /v1/twitter/profile plus X's "About this account" details: author.ext.account_based_in (the region X reports the account is based in, for example Europe), author.ext.signup_source (how it signed up, for example Europe App Store), author.ext.username_changes and author.ext.username_last_changed_at (its handle history), and whether X considers the location and the creation country accurate (author.ext.location_accurate, author.ext.created_country_accurate). It also returns author.ext.media_count, author.ext.likes_given (posts this account has liked, not likes it received, so author.likes_count stays null), author.ext.creator_subscriptions_count and the verification breakdown behind author.verified: author.ext.verified_blue, author.ext.verified_legacy, author.ext.identity_verified and author.ext.verification_reason (X's reason, for example a government account). X publishes no protected flag on this record, so author.private is null.

What can you do with the Profile About API?
The Profile About endpoint gives you structured X data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
# GET /v1/twitter/profile/about: 2 credits per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
