How-to guide

How to find the social media accounts behind a topic

Send keywords, a context sentence and view=accounts to prism/discover, and the run returns the public accounts whose posts match the topic, each with its profile and the posts that matched. The example looks for sellers of counterfeit luxury watches in the UAE over 90 days. A run costs 0 to 400 credits.

0 to 400 credits per run, in one API call

The calls, in order

Each step is one request to the SocialCrawl API. Copy the curl, add your key and run it.

  1. Search many platforms for keywords or a description, keep a date window, judge every row and return the posts, in one call or as a background run.

Topic words go in keywords and the user's question in context; role=seller, reseller keeps only sellers.

0 to 400 credits per call
    curl
    curl -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \

Prompt
Use the SocialCrawl API for this job: Find the public accounts (sellers, creators, pages and channels) whose posts match a topic, each with its profile and the posts that matched.
Base URL: https://www.socialcrawl.dev. Send the API key in the x-api-key header (an Authorization: Bearer header also works). Values in braces are placeholders to fill.
1. GET /v1/prism/discover?keywords=replica%20rolex%20dubai%2Cfake%20watches%20uae&context=accounts%20selling%20counterfeit%20luxury%20watches%20in%20the%20UAE&view=accounts&period=90d&max_credits=400 (Topic words go in keywords and the user's question in context; role=seller, reseller keeps only sellers.)
Every response is JSON with data, credits_used and request_id. The full endpoint reference is at https://www.socialcrawl.dev/llms.txt.

Contact us
What goes in keywords and what goes in context?
Put the topic words in keywords and the question you are asking in context, in a plain sentence. The example lists two search phrases and a context describing the kind of account it wants.
How do I keep only sellers?
Add role=seller, reseller to keep only accounts judged to be sellers. Without it the run returns every kind of account that posted about the topic, such as creators, pages and channels.
How far back does it look?
Set period to the window you want. The example uses 90d for the last 90 days. A longer window finds more accounts and can raise the run's cost, so keep max_credits set.
What does each account result show?
Each result is an account with its profile and the posts that matched your topic, so you can see why it was returned. Open the matched posts before acting on an account.
Does the run finish immediately?
It can take longer. A 202 answer means the run continues in the background, so wait on data.next.status_url and read the rows at data.next.results_url when it completes.
How much does one run cost?
One run of the example above costs 0 to 400 credits across one API call. Every new account gets 100 free credits, credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
