How-to guide
How to find people ready to buy on Reddit
Call reddit/search with a product category as the query, label=intent and relevance=filter, and the response returns on-topic posts with a buying intent judgement under computed.labels. Each post links to the thread, so you can reply where the buyer already asked. A run costs 1 credit.
1 credit per run, in one API call
The calls, in order
Each step is one request to the SocialCrawl API. Copy the curl, add your key and run it.
Search Reddit posts
1 credit per callTry this call on its endpoint page: Search Reddit postscurlcurl -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \ "https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/reddit/search?query=best+crm+for+startups&label=intent&relevance=filter"
What comes back
A real response from reddit/search, captured from the SocialCrawl API, with long lists cut to two rows.

"selftext": "I built a tool that reads emails from my kid’s school and other activities (swimming, music classes, scouts) etc and then: - Adds them to our shared calendar- Sends us a WhatsApp message to remind us the day before of what to pack in his school bag- Tells us what is on his lunch menu (helps us to avoid making the same dinner for him as he would have had for lunch) This all saves so much headache and head space in our daily routine. No more flapping around in the morning!!! I’ve also build tools that help with invoicing and proposals for example. Those have single-handedly removed a lot of daily frustration and friction. For example sometimes I wouldn’t bid on a job because I knew it would take a few hours of my day to write the proposal. And that would leave money on the table. Not it takes 5 mins and more work is coming in as a result simply because more proposals are going through the door. I’d I love to hear what you guys are making and things that really help you out. My main aim is to get my evenings and weekends back and be able to spend more time with my family whilst still scaling my business. Maybe they are lofty goals!!",

}Hand this job to your coding agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor or any agent that can make HTTP requests. It names every endpoint and parameter the job needs.
Prompt
Use the SocialCrawl API for this job: Search discussions for a product category and mark the posts where someone is looking to buy.
Base URL: https://www.socialcrawl.dev. Send the API key in the x-api-key header (an Authorization: Bearer header also works). Values in braces are placeholders to fill.
1. GET /v1/reddit/search?query=best%20crm%20for%20startups&label=intent&relevance=filter
Every response is JSON with data, credits_used and request_id. The full endpoint reference is at https://www.socialcrawl.dev/llms.txt.FAQ
Have a question? We got answers
Find answers to frequently asked questions about SocialCrawl's API, pricing, and capabilities.
Contact usWhat does label=intent add?
It adds a judgement to each post under computed.labels, marking whether the author is looking to buy. You filter on that label to keep the threads where someone asked for a recommendation.
What does relevance=filter do?
It scores each post against your query and drops the ones that are not about it, which keeps a search for a CRM from returning unrelated threads. The response reports how many rows were kept and dropped.
What does each post include?
Each post has the title, score, comment count, subreddit, permalink and the body text at ext.selftext, plus the labels. Bodies arrive free with this endpoint, so include_body=true is rarely needed.
How many posts come back and how do I get more?
A page holds up to 25 posts and varies. Pass next_cursor from the response into the next request to continue. To search inside one community only, the registry points to subreddit/search.
Can I read the comments of a promising thread?
Yes. Take the post url from a result and send it to prism/comments, which collects the comments on a Reddit post and tags buying intent on the first 100 of each call.
How much does one run cost?
One run of the example above costs 1 credit across one API call. Every new account gets 100 free credits, credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
