How-to guide

How to analyze how people reacted to your brand and competitors last month

Send your brands, a period such as last_month and a max_credits cap to prism/discover, and one run searches the social platforms and the news, judges each post for relevance, removes duplicates and returns the rows. The run can finish in the background, so wait on the status url, then read every row. A run costs 0 to 150 credits.

0 to 150 credits per run, in one API call

The calls, in order

Each step is one request to the SocialCrawl API. Copy the curl, add your key and run it.

  1. Search many platforms for keywords or a description, keep a date window, judge every row and return the posts, in one call or as a background run.

A 202 answer keeps running in the background: wait on data.next.status_url and read every row at data.next.results_url.

    curl
    curl -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
      "https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/prism/discover?brands=aruba%2Ccuracao%2Cbonaire&period=last_month&exclude_terms=networks&max_credits=150"
Try this call on its endpoint page: Search many platforms for keywords or a description, keep a date window, judge every row and return the posts, in one call or as a background run.

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Cursor or any agent that can make HTTP requests. It names every endpoint and parameter the job needs.

Prompt
Use the SocialCrawl API for this job: See how people reacted to a brand and its competitors over last month, across the social platforms and the news, judged and de-duplicated in one run.
Base URL: https://www.socialcrawl.dev. Send the API key in the x-api-key header (an Authorization: Bearer header also works). Values in braces are placeholders to fill.
1. GET /v1/prism/discover?brands=aruba%2Ccuracao%2Cbonaire&period=last_month&exclude_terms=networks&max_credits=150 (A 202 answer keeps running in the background: wait on data.next.status_url and read every row at data.next.results_url.)
Every response is JSON with data, credits_used and request_id. The full endpoint reference is at https://www.socialcrawl.dev/llms.txt.

How do I add competitors to the analysis?
List them in brands, comma separated, as the example does with three names. Use exclude_terms to drop a word that pulls in the wrong posts, such as a name shared with another business.
What does the 202 response mean?
A 202 answer means the run keeps working in the background. Poll data.next.status_url until it finishes, then read every row at data.next.results_url. Your code should expect this for a month-long window across many platforms.
How do I limit what a run can spend?
Set max_credits to a ceiling, as the example does. The registry prices the run by what it does, so a cap keeps a broad brand list from costing more than you planned.
How do I change the time window?
Change period. The example uses last_month, and the accounts job on the same endpoint uses 90d, so the field takes both calendar and rolling windows. Check the endpoint page for the full list.
What comes back for each post?
Each result is a post found by searching many platforms, judged for relevance and kept inside the date window, with the run status and the next step. Read the rows per brand to compare how each one was received.
How much does one run cost?
One run of the example above costs 0 to 150 credits across one API call. Every new account gets 100 free credits, credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
