The thresholds on this page are Snapchat's own published eligibility criteria, cited from Snapchat Support, About Snapchat's Monetization Program (2026) (model version 2026-08-09): 50,000 followers, 15,000 hours of view time over the last 28 days with at least 3,000 hours from Spotlight, age 18 or older, an eligible country, and verified Snap Star status. The Spotlight hours are a subset of the total, not an alternative to it, and meeting every criterion makes a creator eligible for invitation rather than automatically monetized. Snapchat retired the separate Spotlight Rewards Program on 31 January 2025, so this single unified program is now the only route. To show where earning creators actually sit, SocialCrawl reads the live follower count of a curated basket of well-known public Snap Star accounts via the API endpoint /v1/snapchat/profile and takes the median: 12 creators sampled on 2026-08-09, a median of 4 million followers. The thresholds are published facts, never fabricated; the median is read live.
