Threads Post API

Scrape Threads Post data with one API call. Returns detailed information about a specific Threads post including the text content, like count, reply count, repost count, media attachments, author info, and creation timestamp. Carousel posts return every slide as an array in `content.media_urls`; video posts return a playable video URL there with the cover frame in `content.thumbnail_url`. A post filed under a Threads topic tag also carries that tag name at `post.ext.topic_tag` (e.g. `bali`, `dokter gigi`) with its stable id at `post.ext.topic_tag_id`; both are absent on untagged posts. Quote posts are fully resolved: a post that quotes another usually carries no caption or media of its own, so the text and video shown on its page are returned under `post.ext.quoted_post` as `{ id, url, author, text, media_urls, thumbnail_url }`. That attachment belongs to a different account, so it is kept there rather than merged into `content`, and `post.content` always stays this post's own content. The field is absent on posts that are not quote posts.

Last updated August 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

Returns one Threads post's text, like, reply and repost counts, every carousel slide or video URL, author, creation time, and topic tag at post.ext.topic_tag.

Use it when you have a post URL and want that single post rather than a whole feed. If it is a quote post, the quoted post arrives at post.ext.quoted_post.

Contact us
How do I get a Threads post's details with an API?
Send a GET request to /v1/threads/post with the full post URL in the url parameter. SocialCrawl returns the post text, like count, reply count, repost count, view count, media attachments, and author information.
What engagement fields does the endpoint return?
The response breaks engagement into likes, comments (replies), shares (reposts), saves (reshares), and views. Every field lives under the unified post.engagement object so you can compare engagement across platforms with the same code.
Does it work for video posts and reshared content?
Yes. Video posts return the same core fields plus thumbnail, duration, and view count. Reshared posts include the original author info so you can trace the post back to its source without extra lookups.
Can I trim the response to just the essentials?
Yes. Pass trim=true and the endpoint returns a compact payload with only the core fields. Handy for dashboards and feeds where you display a summary and only fetch the full post on demand.
How fast is the Threads Post API?
Most requests return JSON in 1–3 seconds. The endpoint uses the post cache category, so repeat requests for the same post URL come back faster from the SocialCrawl cache with no extra credit charge on cache hits.
