Google Play Locations API
Scrape Google Play Locations data with one API call. Returns the Google Play storefronts (name + numeric location code + ISO country code) accepted by the `country` param on every google_play endpoint: 211 countries. Static reference data, heavily cached. Storefronts are country-level, so a sub-country code resolves to its parent and returns that country's data: `country=1019999` (a Minnesota city) and `country=US` returned byte-identical charts on 06/09/2026. `location_type=all` returns the full underlying geo tree instead, all 269,681 rows of it (cities, postal codes, neighbourhoods, airports), which is a 46 MB response and rarely what you want here.
Last updated September 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
Returns the storefronts the Google Play endpoints support, each with its name and numeric location code.
Use it to find a valid value for the country parameter on the other Google Play endpoints.

What can you do with the Locations API?
The Locations endpoint gives you structured Google Play data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
curl -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
"https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/google_play/locations?location_type=country"import requests
response = requests.get(
"https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/google_play/locations",
params={
'location_type': 'country',
},
headers={"x-api-key": "YOUR_API_KEY"},
)
data = response.json()const response = await fetch(
"https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/google_play/locations?location_type=country",
{
headers: { "x-api-key": "YOUR_API_KEY" },
},
);
const data = await response.json();Parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| location_type | No | `country` (default) returns the storefronts the `country` param accepts. `all` returns the full underlying geo tree, including cities, postal codes and neighbourhoods, which all resolve to their parent country. (country | all) |
What does the Google Play Locations API return?
Every response follows one unified schema. Here is a real, unmodified response body, so you can see the exact fields you get back before spending a credit.
