How we compute this
SocialCrawl reads the public like count for a curated basket of historically most-liked posts via /v1/twitter/tweet, then ranks them by the live favorite count. 28 tweets were ranked on 2026-09-06. The basket is drawn from posts already known to sit among the most liked, not an exhaustive scan of every post on X, so it answers which of these has the most likes rather than a census of X. X publishes no official ranking. Photo-only posts with no caption are labelled by the author's @handle, because the API body is a t.co URL rather than a sentence. Long tweets are shown as their first sentence in the table; the verbatim body is kept in the snapshot. Two Wikipedia-listed records that X had already deleted (Andy Milonakis' astronaut joke and Twitter's 'hello literally everyone') were never fetched. Two more posts returned 404 when fetched live and were dropped from the basket. A 404 is not a zero, and this page never backfills a deleted tweet with a stale number. The most retweeted post named here is the most retweeted of these 28, not of X as a whole. Every count is read live, never estimated.
