Monthly brand report
Collect a month of posts, the comments under the top posts and each brand's own posts for a brand and its competitors in one discover run, with stance and sentiment counted per brand
A monthly brand report needs the same evidence every month: what people posted about the brand and its competitors during the calendar month, what they said under the top posts, and what the brands posted themselves. Discover collects all of it in one background run. Each brand is a group, every row names the brand it is about, and the run's summary counts stance and sentiment per brand.

What each part does
Groups. Each group is one brand. Its brand is searched by name on every platform of the preset (travel is Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest and news) and labelled with the mention judgment. Every row carries its group, and summary.by_group counts each brand apart. A post that two brands' searches both found is kept once, under the first group, with the other listed in also_in_groups. One request holds up to 100 groups.
context. Every row is judged against it, so a post that names Aruba but is about football, crime or politics is dropped as off_topic. A context costs 1 credit per started 15 rows judged. Without one, rows are judged against the brand name alone, which is free and keeps those rows.
label. mention says how much each post is about its brand (about_brand) and, for a post about it, its sentiment and sarcasm. stance marks each post positive, negative, neutral or no_opinion toward its brand, and summary.by_group.<id>.stance counts them; a post the judge cannot place has label: null and counts as uncertain. Each label costs 1 credit per started 25 posts judged.
questions. Up to 5 questions of your own, asked of every post. The answer to a yes or no question is a probability at judgments.questions.<id>.p (here judgments.questions.price.p). A question must be about what the post says: one that infers a trait of the writer, such as age, ethnicity or health, is refused free with sensitive_question. Each question costs 1 credit per started 25 posts judged.
brand_handles. A brand's own accounts, written brand:platform:handle. Aruba's own Instagram posts in the month arrive as record_type: "owned_post", and the posts that tag the account as tagged. They are kept without relevance judging and never counted as reactions: summary.record_types counts them apart.
Comments. comments=inline reads the comments under each brand's top posts. comments.top_posts (default 3) posts are taken in turn from the platforms in the preset's order and ranked by comment count, and comments.per_post (default 20) comments are read from each. comments.min_length=20 drops replies shorter than 20 characters, and comments.labels=sentiment labels each comment it keeps. Each selected post row then carries comments.items, and summary.comments counts the posts, pages and comments read.
retention_days. A run's rows stay readable for 7 days by default. 30 keeps the month's pack readable for 30 days.
Follow the run
Wait on data.next.status_url, which holds the call for up to 25 seconds, until data.run.status is completed. Then download every row:
curl "https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/prism/discover/runs/{run_id}/results.jsonl" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" > rows.jsonlTo be told when a run finishes, register a URL once with POST /v1/webhook-endpoints and "types": ["discover.*"]: every run on your account then posts discover.completed (or discover.partial, discover.paused, discover.failed) to it. GET /v1/events?types=discover.* reads the same events without a server. See Event webhooks and Events.
GET /v1/prism/discover/runs/{run_id}?group=aruba reads one brand's rows, and results.jsonl?group=aruba downloads them. Reading and downloading are free.

Every week instead of once a month
How far back a search reaches depends on the platform. YouTube and news apply exact dates and reach any month. A TikTok date page covers about 2 to 3 days, and Reddit searches a time bucket (a week, a month or a year), so the later a last_month request is sent, the fewer TikTok, Instagram and Reddit posts it finds. Sent on 20/10/2026 for September, the request above kept 22 to 44 YouTube posts per brand, and at most 8 TikTok posts and 2 Reddit posts per brand. See How far back can each platform reach?.
A weekly schedule collects each week while every platform still reaches it. Send the same body with "period": "7d" and a schedule:
{
"period": "7d",
"max_credits": 300,
"schedule": {
"every": "7d",
"start_at": "2026-11-02T14:00:00Z",
"max_credits_per_run": 300,
"max_credits_per_month": 1500,
"name": "Caribbean weekly"
}
}- The first run starts at
start_at(at most 90 days ahead; 14:00 UTC is 09:00 in New York in November), or at once without it. Each later run starts 7 days after the previous one. - Each run delivers only rows that earlier runs of the schedule did not, so a post is never delivered or judged twice.
max_credits_per_runcaps each run.max_credits_per_monthpauses the schedule for the rest of the UTC month when one more run could take the month past it, and it resumes by itself the next month.- When a run settles with rows, the schedule sends
discover.new_rowswith their count. Download that run'sresults.jsonlthen and add it to the month's file. - At the end of the month, keep the rows whose
published_atfalls inside the month in your time zone. A week that runs across two months has rows in both.
GET /v1/prism/discover/schedules lists your schedules, GET /v1/prism/discover/runs?schedule_id={schedule_id} lists one schedule's runs, and POST .../pause, POST .../resume and DELETE /v1/prism/discover/schedules/{schedule_id} manage it, all free. See Schedules.
Reviews, for brands with review pages
An app, a product, a hotel chain or a shop has review pages of its own. Add "search_in": ["posts", "reviews"] and the run also reads the brand's reviews on Trustpilot, Google, Tripadvisor, the App Store and Google Play, newest first where the site sorts by date. A destination such as Aruba has no review page of its own, so reviews suit a product or a business better. See Reviews of a brand for the sites, how far back each reaches and their prices.
What it costs
The request above ran on 20/10/2026 for September. Its dry run estimated 776 credits, and the run spent 339 in about four minutes: 82 on searches, 149 on judging and 108 on comments, 101 of them on Instagram. It kept 381 posts, all dated inside September in New York time, among them 15 of Aruba's own Instagram posts, and read 420 comments under 24 top posts, of which 318 passed comments.min_length. Each search page and each judged row is billed only once it is collected, so a run usually costs less than its estimate.
| Part | Price |
|---|---|
| A search page | The platform's own page price: 1 credit on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest and news. |
context | 1 credit per started 15 rows judged. Judging against the brand name alone is free. |
Each label value and each question | 1 credit per started 25 posts judged. |
| A comment page | 1 credit on TikTok, YouTube, Threads and X; 5 on Instagram and Reddit. |
| YouTube search with comments | 6 credits a page, because the page then carries the comment counts that pick the top posts. |
| A brand's own posts | 1 credit a page of its feed; 5 for Instagram tagged posts. |
| Reading a run, downloading it, schedules and events | Free. |
max_credits is the most a run may spend. A run that reaches it pauses, keeps everything it collected, and continues with POST /v1/prism/discover/runs/{run_id}/resume and a higher max_credits.
