# Instagram Hashtag API (https://www.socialcrawl.dev/platforms/instagram/hashtag)

> Returns Instagram's own record for a hashtag: its id (`post.id`), its name (`post.content.text`), its explore page (`post.url`) and the exact number of public posts Instagram counts under it (`post.ext.posts_count`). The count is live and moves between calls minutes apart. Pass the tag with or without the leading `#`; it is matched exactly and case-insensitively, never to a similar tag, and a tag with spaces is refused free. A tag Instagram does not know returns 404 and is not charged. A hashtag has no author, media or engagement, so those leaves are null. Use /v1/instagram/search/hashtag to read the posts themselves.
