# Booking.com (/docs/booking)

Search Booking.com properties with priced room options, then read property records and guest reviews

Booking.com lists hotels and other properties. These endpoints search a destination for priced properties, read one property's catalogue record and page through its guest reviews. Properties use the canonical `Place` shape and reviews use the canonical `Review` shape, like Airbnb and Tripadvisor.

Booking.com exposes 3 routes here. Property routes take exactly one of `id` or `url`.

## Quickstart

### Search a destination

Pass `check_in` and `check_out` (YYYY-MM-DD) to price a stay. Without dates the search prices a default stay and echoes the dates it used in `data.check_in` and `data.check_out`. Every bookable room option is priced in `place.hotel.prices`, with the meal plan and free-cancellation date in each row's title.

### Read one property

Take the id from `place.id` on a search row, for example `pt/masa-5-de-outubro`, or pass the property's Booking.com link as `url`.

### Pull its guest reviews

Reviews come up to 25 a page. Each has a score out of 10, a title, what the guest liked and disliked (both kept in `review.text`, labelled), the guest's name and country, and the property's reply. `data.total` is the full review count.

## Platform notes

**Search repeats are removed for you.** Booking.com repeats properties across pages. Each page leaves out any property an earlier page of the same walk already served, and `data._warnings` says how many were removed. Pass the returned `cursor` for the next page of about 25 properties.

**The property record does not price a stay.** `GET /v1/booking/search` does. Booking.com also leaves its headline review score out of the property record, so `place.rating.value` and `place.reviews_count` are null on `GET /v1/booking/hotel`. The search row and the reviews route carry them.
